FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WHAT IS THE BASE FARE?

    A percentage (%) of our hourly rate - this can vary depending on distance moved. It’s a one-time setup fee that helps to defray the cost of getting the crew from our office to the job site and back afterward. It also covers fuel expenses and truck maintenance.

  • WHAT IS A MINIMUM HOURLY CHARGE?

    All local moves (or any move that is less than 100 miles apart) are charged on an hourly basis and are subject to a minimum charge. The minimum charge is the smallest amount a moving company will charge for a job regardless if the move takes less time to complete. We have a two-hour minimum.

  • WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO WE ACCEPT?

    We accept Cash, Venmo, Zelle & major Credit Cards (VISA/Mastercard/American Express/Discover). Checks will not be accepted..

  • HOW LONG WILL MY RESIDENTIAL MOVE TAKE?

    While EVERY move varies, the average time is below:

    Studio: 1 - 3 hours

    1 Bedroom: 2 - 4 hours

    2 Bedroom: 3 - 5 hours

    Keep in mind that every home is different and that the final time may vary either slightly or significantly depending on your specific scenario.

  • WHERE IS THE FURTHEST YOU MOVE?

    We’re based out of the Bay Area, yet relocate families all throughout the state of California - NorCal, SoCal, to the edges of the entire state line & often beyond.

  • WHAT ITEMS DO YOU NOT MOVE?

    We do not move pianos, pool tables, hot tubs, explosives, flammables, perishable goods or pets. Additionally, STUART MOVING LLC reserves the right not to move any item that cannot be moved safely.
